Creating your new Gallery is as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Register
You will be sent an email with your password and directed to your first post called Hello World.
2. Go to your Dashboard.
Your gallery will be located at http://ladyartist.com/gallery/[your-username]
3. Upload images of your artwork and fill in a little something on your About page.
To upload your images just click on the little square Add media: button under the title of your page and browse your computer for images of your work to upload.
Basically, to get started, that is all there is to it!

Of course there is are many more things you can do if you want to.
You can change the color of the header of the default theme or choose a whole new theme just like here at wordpress.com. (Atahualpa is my personal favorite because it is so versatile.) Just login, or if you are already logged in, select “Site Admin” in the sidebar, of your new page, under META and start photo-blogging!
Let me know what you think of the site and if everything is running smoothly. I am trying to make the site as simple as possible so it can be all about the art and not about programming!
Speaking of ART, remember Ladyartist.com has the atmosphere of an Art gallery, not just a free-for-all blog like you see all over the blogosphere, or random thoughts like Facebook or Myspace. So for best results Please keep your pages on topic. (Art Related) there are many more environments for other topics elsewhere.
Social Networking
There is also a social networking back-end called BuddyPress. It only shows up for members and it is a lot of fun. It gives artists a chance to talk to each other and help each other in group discussions, technically “group blogs”. Your profile is at http://ladyartist.com/gallery/members/your-username/ or, when you are logged in, just click a menu on the top (gray) menu bar.
Blogs
The post, Hello world!, is what they call a blog roll. Little clips of all your various “Posts” will show up here. They can be clicked on and the viewer will be taken to the individual post of their interest where they can view your entire page, paragraph or pictures of your work and they will be able to comment on them and you can comment back to them about your work. (The idea is to keep on topic for each post)
Pages
There are also “Pages” you can make. A Page is for permanent things like the “About” page or perhaps a page for each individual gallery topic or medium you have, for example, Stained Glass Art, Oil Painting, Nail Art. Then you can create a “post” or statement about each item that is on the page, if you want to, and let people comment on them.
Tags
Tags are very important! For example; Each picture and artist’s avatar will have tags that will allow it show up when people go to search for something like “Oil painting”, “Stained Glass Art”, or “Interior Design”. More on this later.
Media
Under your post or page title, you will see “Add media:
where you can add an image, video or sound file. Once uploaded you can add a Title, Caption, and Descriptions for each image you have uploaded.
I have found that the name of your file is important also and seems to show up now and then so don’t use 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg use something descriptive like”jodis-lips.jpg” or “Stain-glass-window.jpg” and don’t use spaces, they always give you problems – if not now later.
